Air Control Systems, Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities (include but are not limited to the following):

Design of commercial HVAC systems (new construction, tenant improvement, conditioned warehouses, etc.)

Prepare and develop Auto CAD engineering drawings, layouts and schematics

Perform load calculations and title 24 compliance models

Coordination with engineer(s)/architect(s) and other disciplines

Attend meetings and field surveys as required during design

Support project construction including working with review of submittals and request for proposal (RFP)/request for information (RFI)

Expert level of detail in review of engineering drawing, specification, and front-end documents

Provide engineering depth and support/value to other divisions (Estimating, Installation, Start-Up, Piping, Business Development, etc.)

Learn all software programs utilized in the day-to-day business operations of the company

Qualifications

Required Characteristics:

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management required

Must be a California-licensed Professional Engineer (Mechanical)

4+ years’ experience in mechanical engineering/design is required (engineering/architectural or design-build firm)

Must be proficient in AutoCAD (REVIT knowledge is a plus)

Sustainable design methodologies and energy modeling techniques/knowledge (LEED Accreditation preferred)

Detail oriented with strong conceptual skills

Must be technically inclined and demonstrate a “can-do” problem solving attitude

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, and Word

Must have a strong work ethic with an innate customer-first philosophy

Must be an excellent listener and strong communicator

Experience with Commercial, Distribution & Warehousing Market segments

Strong understanding of California Building Codes and ASHRAE standards

Must have a valid California driver’s license in good standing
